Plant of the Week

EDUCATION

08.28.2026

Hello friends, happy Friday. This weeks plant of the week is Bay leaf. I have a few announcements and then more on bay leaf.

We are still coming through Bonita, Estero, San Carlos, Ft Myers, Cape Coral, and Pine Island next week. Looks like Wednesday. If you have an order in already, I'll confirm a timeframe on Monday for the Wednesday delivery. We offer free delivery in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, and Hendry County every week. Contact us anytime to be out on the schedule.

We also have our first crop of herbs ready. They will need to stay in the shade till late October and out of too much rain. We have oregano, dill, spearmint, and sage for $5.

I will be having a sale this weekend on larger items that need to be planted or potted up. This is a great time to get trees that are in a smaller pot before we pot them up. We have a ton of trees in 3 gallon, all super healthy, that need to be put in a 7 gallon, and a ton of 7 gallon that need to go in a 15 gallon pot or larger. The plants include all 6 kinds of guava, 100 kinds of mango, 30 kinds of avacados, 10 kinds of banana, and many more. We also have 30 kinds of other trees in 1 gallon as big as 3 gallon, and those are on sKe 2 for $25. A great time to plant now to take advantage of the rainy season and get established. If you had a wishlist to plant, run the list by me. I can make a package deal, and probably find a big tree in a smaller pot. For example, we have strawberry tree aka Jamaican cherry $15 ech or 2 for $25, they are 3' tall and fruiting. 3 gallon usually go for $45 for the same size tree. We will start potting things up next week, so request a new copy of our inventory by messaging me, or send a text to 239-241-1537, and you'll get our 15 pages of over 600 varieties to choose from.

This week I will tell you a little about bay leaf. Common in a variety of dishes from many cultures as well. It's from the Mediterranean area originally and can thrive in zone 8-11. A little fresh bay homegrown tastes a lot better than the dry, who knows how old, leaves that expensive from the store. The tree is very slow growing and can take sun or partial shade. It likes well drained soil. The tree will reach 10-12' feet full grown.

We are located in Naples, off DeSoto Blvd South in Golden Gate Estates. We are open Saturday and Sunday 9-4 or by appointment Monday through Friday. We accept zelle cashapp venmo cash or check with ID. No credit cards sorry. We offer free delivery and free consultation. Low cost design for landscaping available.
